Description

GemStar is a free graphics utility for Bahá'í use to easily create 9 pointed images (gems and stars).

The application is currently in development and posted here only for comments and suggestions.

Description of features
Feature Description
Line Colour Select the line colour for drawing the 9 pointed figures
Radius Select the size of the graphic.
Drawing style There are 4 Arabesque drawing styles in addition to the following contemporary styles:
  • Intertwined
  • Lines
  • Outline
  • Profile 1
  • Profile 2

To activate a pop-up menu from which to select the current drawing style, simply click on the Drawing Style control.
Line thickness Specify the thickness (in pixels) of the lines used to draw the graphics
Shape Choose one of the 5 different gem patterns, or one of the 4 possible star shapes.
Sample The "Sample" area shows the actual representation up to 96 pixels; Images larger than that are reduced to fit the sample area, though they are printed and exported in the specified dimension.
To activate a pop-up menu from which to change the current drawing style, right-click on the Sample graphic.

File   Activate the "File" sub-options
  Print Send the drawing to your printer
  Save Save the drawing to a *.bmp file
  Exit Exit (close) the GemStar application
Help   Activate the "Help" sub-options
  About Current version information
  Help Application help file
  Stats Drawing statistics
Hint panel The area at the bottom of the form displays short hints as the cursor passes over the various controls.
